Hello friends & fellow seekers of the Good True Beautiful! I write to you today from lovely Tucson, Arizona, happy to announce I've got a new ebook that I'm excited to share with you today!
This is one I pretty much wrote by accident. I originally set out to write just one essay explaining the reasons for my belief that we (meaning, the developed world), have entered a new Age where the questions that define our lives — Who are we as humans? What is our purpose for being here? What is the truth about what's really going on in the universe? — are all being re-asked and re-answered based on discoveries in relativity and quantum physics over the past hundred years. But (and I know based on that super straightforward description, what I'm about to say will be a shock to all of you), it turned out I could not convey everything I wanted to explore in just one essay!
So I wrote two essays. Then three. Then four. Then, finally, eight. And, Viola!, I had written a short book.
Eight chapters. Nearly 20,000 words. But I really enjoyed taking a deep dive into these big questions, and I'm genuinely excited for other people to read this. Many already have via the original eight essays here on the substack (which will remain here for anyone who wants to read the work that way — all tagged “Neo Axial”). But I also wanted to compile it all in one place and offer it as a book — which I’m making available to anyone who is a paid subscriber. It’s a just small way to say thank you for your ongoing support. Your generosity really helps me keep creating resources like this for readers. I’m deeply grateful! You’ll find a link to download the PDF at the bottom of this post.
Wandering Updates…
After a big family gathering on the Texas shore for Turkey day, and a week long stopover in Denver to get all my annual check ups (the board is all green I’m happy to report!), I headed south for the desert states. I did this in part to get out of the snow, but also to get some real intense 1-on-1 time with God. I told my friends and family I was “going full mystic” for a while. BUT (isn’t there always a BUT?), my plans were interrupted by the passing of the father of one of my close friends from high school back in Austin. So I made the 3-day drive back to my hometown and attended the funeral, tacking on another week for good measure so I could hang with dear old friends, some I hadn’t seen in many decades.
Now I’m back in the desert southwest. Alone and seeking audience with the Great Spirit I know frequents these landscapes. I’ve got no specific plan other than to follow the Winds, and listen to the voice of my own deepest soul. I’m not sure how long I’ll be out here, or where I’ll end up on the other side. But I’m pretty confident I will not be bored. :)
The Great Novel Project continues to forge ahead. RELEASE DATES for all four books will be announced soon. (MAN, I’ve been waiting sooooo long to type those words. I cannot wait to share this epic story with you all!)
Also, watch this space. You’re gonna start seeing uploads from me there very soon.
